I am on 2 Evaluation projects led by the College of Nursing at the University of Alabama at Huntsville:
I am the External Evaluator for UAH-CCC Gulf Scholars Program.
I am conducting a Health Needs Assessment of targeted communities in Madison County.
Since August 2023, I have been serving as the External Evaluator and Thought Partner for the APS Science Trust Project, which empowers scientists to contend with misinformation. I analyzed the STP 4-part online training via pre- and post-surveys and interviews with participants, and wrote a Fall 2023 Evaluation Report showing that STP significantly increases participants' confidence in their ability to have productive interactions about misinformation. I also helped develop a 90-minute STP workshop that was presented at the APS March 2024 Meeting, which showed significant increases in participants' understanding of reflective listening as an important component in building Science Trust. In 2025, I am evaluating the new APS Ambassador Program.
I was the 2024-2025 External Evaluator for the NSF Quantum Leap Challenge Institute for Enhanced Sensing and Distribution Using Correlated Quantum States (Q-SEnSE) Quantum Research Exchange (QRX), a holistic internship program supporting the Second Quantum Revolution.
I have had 3 contracts with the Alabama Space Grant Consortium between Fall 2022 and Spring 2025. As a long-term beneficiary of Space Grant, both as a graduate student in Montana and as a professor in West Virginia, I am honored to be able to continue working with Space Grant in Alabama.
2024-2025: External Evaluator and Thought Partner to assist with planning for ASGC's next 5-year funding cycle. I helped to develop program SMART Goals, a Logic Model. I identified barriers and opportunities to better support behind-the-scenes program sustainability, analyzed K-12 STEM outreach data, and provided teamwork and well-being rubrics for students.
2022-2023: I conducted a Landscape Analysis that explored the intersections of NASA’s unique capabilities to provide authentic STEM learning experiences, Alabama’s space education needs and assets, Alabama Education Standards, and opportunities and best practices for advancing diversity, equity, inclusivity and accessibility. I conducted over 40 interviews with over 50 contacts, representing ASGC-supported students and higher education partners, NASA educators, Alabama teachers, professional development experts, and informal educators. I also conducted and analyzed a teacher survey (N=219), with findings indicating teacher needs (ex: kits of supplies, guest speakers, professional development).
